What We Do
Nourish Long Island delivers free Nourish Boxes—fresh ingredients and simple recipes for at least seven home-cooked meals—directly to the doors of families facing food insecurity.
Thoughtfully curated and delivered with care, each box provides support with dignity and the same convenience as popular meal-kit services.
Why We Do It
More than 300,000 Long Islanders—including 70,000 children—struggle to put food on the table. Without reliable access to nutritious food, kids can’t learn, adults can’t thrive, and seniors must choose between groceries and medicine.
By delivering Nourish Boxes directly to their doors, we ensure families receive the nutritious food they need to learn, work, and stay healthy.

When the pandemic left Long Island families struggling to put food on the table, Nourish Long Island stepped up. Since July 2019, we’ve delivered 805 Nourish Boxes—filled with fresh, healthy ingredients—to families facing hunger. Each box represents more than meals; it’s comfort, dignity, and hope shared around the dinner table.
A Fresh Take on Fighting Hunger - The Nourish Box
We’ve transformed the idea of a meal kit into something deeper—a Nourish Box that helps families cook together, eat well, and rediscover joy in food. Each box provides ingredients for about 7 hearty, home-cooked meals, along with simple recipes to make the most of every item.
